fair trade mudcloth bag from Mali with hand woven fabric decoration makes an
ideal purse or stylish shopping bag. Soft and roomy, with an inside zipper and
magnetic closure, the cocoa colored bag is made by textile artisans from a fair
trade co-op in Bamako, Mali. Using a
complex process of dyeing with fermented clay slip and a solution of boiled
plant leaves, Bogolanfini, or "mudcloth", is a hand-dyed cotton
textile crafted predominantly by the Bamana people of Mali. Artisans create meaningful designs on the
cotton with the dye.
