These hand pounded copper teapots were made by women from a blacksmith community in a western Nepal mountain village, members of the Association of Craft Producers. Since 1983, ACP has worked to provide low income or abandoned women with employment and training in local traditional skills. From it’s small beginning with only a few members, ACP has grown to over 1000 artisans, providing access to fair wages, health care, education opportunities and marketing expertise. ACP endeavors to raise worker’s self esteem and ability to compete effectively in the marketplace. Sales of these items help to maintain traditional skills, and strengthen the community through economic development and opportunities for education and land ownership. Water is said to sweeten when kept in copper pots. FDA approved and great for non-acidic tea, but we recommend using a metal trivet on the burner to preserve your pot. Tea pots come in two styles - Flat or Round and large or small. Large Flat teapot is 9" wide x 4" tall and holds six cups, small is 7.5" wide x 3" tall and holds three cups. Round teapot is 8.5" wide x 6" tall and holds four cups.
